Housekeeping Worker - UREC Harrisonburg
JMU Facilities Management is accepting applications for two full-time Housekeeping Workers in the University Recreation Center (UREC). Hours are Monday – Friday, 4:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., with occasional Saturdays and some rotating on-call responsibilities. UREC operates an award-winning, state-of-the-art recreation facility including an adventure center, wellness center, aquatics center, mediation/mindfulness space, and a wet/dry classroom.

Computer Science Student Advisor Harrisonburg

The Center for Global Engagement at JMU is seeking a passionate, detail-oriented professional to support our Global Learning & Partnerships (GLP) unit. The GLP team connects JMU faculty, staff, and students with international engagement opportunities through dynamic programs, connections, and events—whether on-campus, online, or abroad. We oversee the Peace Corps Prep Certificate program, manage international partnerships, and collaborate with internal and external partners to foster global engagement and collaboration. The GLP Office Specialist plays a vital role in supporting this unit and JMU’s global engagement initiatives. This position is responsible for various administrative and fiscal tasks involved with scheduling meetings and virtual exchanges, supply purchasing, and coordinating logistics for international travel and on-campus events. Communication is key, as the role requires liaising with faculty, staff, and international visitors, managing email accounts, and updating webpages. The College of Business (CoB) welcomes applicants for the position of Academic Advisor. The professional staff of the CoB Advising and Support Center (ASC) provides advice and support to 4,500+ undergraduate business majors and minors. The ASC’s mission is to encourage student growth by providing quality advising and programming designed to empower students in making informed decisions leading to achievement of academic and professional goals. The ASC regularly meets with students one-on-one and in group settings to discuss course selection, develop individualized academic plans to ensure timely completion of graduation requirements, and recommend success strategies. The ASC meets with declared and prospective students, monitors student progression, coordinates the college’s formal acceptance process, assists departments with enrollment management, and communicates with various stakeholders. Arboretum Public Relations and Marketing Specialist (Part-Time) Harrisonburg
The Edith J. Carrier Arboretum is a urban forest and public garden on JMU's campus. It's mission is to promote native species, provide opportunities for research and academic use, and educate about the natural and botanical world. The primary purpose of the Public Relations and Marketing Specialist role is to drive increased revenue through sales and fundraising, ensure smooth programmatic operations and high-quality public communications, and enhance the reputation and visibility of the Arboretum. This will necessarily include maintaining clear and accurate records. This is an in-person, part-time position of up to 1500 hours per year (up to 29 hours per week). Exact schedule to be negotiated, but the vast majority of hours will take place between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday with occasional evening or (3-4 Saturdays a year) weekend obligations.
Lifeguard - IE Harrisonburg
Lifeguards watch over all participants using the UREC aquatic facilities. The staff also provides aquatic and safety program information to the participants of UREC. One must hold a current Red Cross Lifeguard Training certification to apply.
