Adjunct faculty plans classes and implements and evaluates teaching/learning objectives and student learning outcomes. Adjunct faculty undertakes the divisional and professional responsibilities of a part-time faculty member, including office hours. The successful applicant will be expected to provide instruction for General Biology and upper level Biology courses and the associated labs (e.g. Microbiology and the associated lab). Most of these labs are offered in the afternoon or evenings. Instruction for science lecture courses (Earth Science, Environmental Science) for non-majors may also be possible.

The successful applicant will be expected to provide instruction in entry-level English courses, including Developmental Writing, College Writing I and II, Technical Writing, and World Literature. Adjunct faculty members may be required to use certain texts and meet certain parameters set by the Department of Languages, Linguistics, and Rhetoric (LLR). Adjunct instructors will also be required to include, in their courses, certain student assessment measures determined by the department.
