Description of Work and Expected Duties:
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic ceramist to assist in our ceramic studio. The position involves a variety of tasks related to the creation, finishing, and preparation of ceramic pieces for exhibitions.
Duties will include:
- Slipcasting and cleaning clay castings
- Loading and unloading kilns (with supervision)
- Glazing bisqued ceramic items
- Packing ceramic pieces for transport
- Preparing hardware and materials for exhibition setup
Requirements:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Previous experience in ceramics is preferred
- A passion for the arts and familiarity with ceramics skills
- Must be available for 19 hours per week

The specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses develop on a periodic basis, depending on department teaching needs.
Adjunct faculty teach beginning and intermediate Chinese courses. Faculty in this position work closely with the Chinese section coordinator to ensure they are teaching in alignment with department expectations. Adjunct faculty are required to hold one hour of office hours per week for each course taught.
