The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for a full-time generalist position in Communication with an emphasis in strategic communication, beginning Fall 2025. This tenure-track position is being offered at the Assistant Professor level. The successful candidate will be expected to achieve excellence in teaching and to help lead development of the UNT Dallas Communication and Digital Media Department, which offers the B.A. degree with tracks in digital production, strategic communication, and communication studies. This new faculty member will provide leadership in developing curricula, service and experiential learning opportunities, academic and community partnerships, and internships in nonprofit, media, and for-profit sectors throughout the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. The successful candidate will be expected to help develop the Communication and Digital Media major as a premier, highly visible program at UNT Dallas.
We are particularly interested in student-centric, innovative, and energetic candidates who can help lead the development of UNTD’s Communication and Digital Media Department through program development, student recruitment, and community outreach. We seek an experienced academic leader who can contribute to the Communication and Digital Media program by teaching a range of courses in mass communication, as well as other communication areas. This new faculty member will also be responsible for developing online courses, a student communication club, and collaborative relationships with area mass communication organizations and agencies, broadcasters, community colleges, high schools, radio stations, and other communication entities. Professional experience in the communication field would be a plus.
