This new faculty member will provide leadership in developing curricula, service and experiential learning opportunities, academic and community partnerships, and internships in nonprofit, media, and for-profit sectors throughout the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. The successful candidate will be expected to help develop the Communication and Digital Media major as a premier, highly visible program at UNT Dallas. We are particularly interested in student-centric, innovative, and energetic candidates who can help lead the development of UNTD’s Communication and Digital Media Department through program development, student recruitment, and community outreach. We seek an experienced academic leader who can contribute to the Communication and Digital Media program by teaching a range of courses in mass communication, as well as other communication areas. This new faculty member will also be responsible for developing online courses, a student communication club, and collaborative relationships with area mass communication organizations and agencies, broadcasters, community colleges, high schools, radio stations, and other communication entities. Professional experience in the communication field would be a plus. Ideal candidates will have teaching experience as either adjunct instructors or full-time Assistant Professors in foundational courses such as physical therapy fundamentals and foundational clinical skills. Duties and responsibilities include teaching, advising, research/scholarship activities, and service in the entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) residential program, fostering interprofessional education and practice through collaboration and engagement with academic faculty within the university, school, and program, supporting the mission and vision of the department to create solutions for a healthier community, and abiding by all relevant university and /or department procedures and policies. The position will have an emphasis on teaching, designing, assessing, and delivering courses as a course director in the DPT residential program but may collaborate in the hybrid program in areas of expertise.
