| Under the general direction of the Assistant Airport Director, this position is responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating security-related activities and communications at Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport. The Airport Security Supervisor ensures that the airport complies with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) approved Airport Security Plan, as well as the TSA-mandated rules and regulations. This includes reviewing all security-related functions to ensure adherence to 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1542, its security program, and any applicable security directives. The supervisor also initiates corrective actions for any instances of non-compliance with the airport’s security program and applicable security directives. |

| Under the general direction of the Assistant Airport Director, this position is responsible for conducting regulatory inspections in both movement and non-movement areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations outlined in Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 139. The role includes monitoring hazard reporting systems, updating safety manuals and local rules, and leading safety meetings and training initiatives to foster a culture of safety. The SMS Manager organizes safety promotion events, facilitates risk management assessments, and investigates the root causes of incidents and accidents to improve operational safety. Additionally, the SMS Manager oversees the performance of the Safety Management System (SMS) program, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations while collaborating with airport operations, maintenance, and security teams. The SMS manager will be required to support Airport Operations in times of no shift coverage. |
