Under the Supervision of the Recreation Community Inclusion Coordinator, the Recreation Leader Supervisor will perform duties pertaining to the operations of the Recreation Programs and working with vulnerable populations, including the safety and welfare of children 5 yrs. to 17 years of age. Monitoring of staff hours, oversight of programming and scheduled activities as well as ensuring the safety of participants and the public. An employee of this class may be required to perform a variety of administrative and record keeping duties and have extensive public contact. They may also be required to do some janitorial work, set up and take down related to the operation of the Recreation Programs. |

The purpose of this position is to ensure the overall health, treatment, and diagnosis of shelter animals and those at our local zoo. The zoo is a medium-sized, AZA accredited facility with a diverse ensemble of animals, including Western lowland gorillas, Galapagos tortoises, lions, tigers, multiple ungulates, small-to-large sized primates, an aquarium, and a notable herpetology collection that includes many species of crocodilians. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and communicating medical policies to the appropriate staff, including proper quarantine and isolation protocols and those that are assisting at our local zoo. He or she will supervise and operate a low-cost spay neuter program offered to members of the public seeking to adopt shelter animals and to perform high volume spay and neuter animal surgery for pet adoptions. In addition, the position will help the senior Veterinarian at the Gladys Porter Zoo. |

The Senior Planner Current and Long-Range will play a vital role in leading and implementing a new comprehensive plan, reviewing mobility plans, and implementing current and long-range master plans. In addition, the Senior Planner will conduct daily assessments of land development and land use applications, while also contributing to long-range planning initiatives focused on urban design, placemaking, and mobility within the Planning and Redevelopment Department. This position will lead and oversee complex tasks related to growth management, redevelopment, and regulatory administration, reviewing development proposals and preparing master plans and code amendments in accordance with established policies and procedures. |
