| The NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) is seeking an experienced and detail-focused Project Officer to support the Red Fleet Reform Program, one of the most significant organisational reform programs currently being prepared by the Service. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a major statewide reform that will support the transfer of Red Fleet ownership, maintenance responsibility and lifecycle accountability from local councils to the NSW RFS.
The Red Fleet Reform Program is preparing the RFS to assume Red Fleet ownership, maintenance responsibility, accounting control and lifecycle accountability from local councils from 1 July 2027, while maintaining operational readiness and progressively maturing the future statewide fleet operating model.
This role will report to the Senior Project Officer, who is the lead project management resource for the program, and will provide project coordination, documentation, reporting, stakeholder and workstream support across a complex enterprise transition program. The role will work closely with senior leaders, program governance forums, workstream leads, project teams, members, councils, suppliers and other government stakeholders. |

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a major statewide reform that will support the transfer of Red Fleet ownership, maintenance responsibility and lifecycle accountability from local councils to the NSW RFS.
The Red Fleet Reform Program is an enterprise transition program to enable NSW RFS to assume Red Fleet (firefighting fleet) ownership, maintenance responsibility, accounting control and lifecycle accountability from local councils.
The program is preparing RFS for the 1 July 2027 transfer milestone while maintaining operational readiness and progressively establishing a future statewide fleet operating model.
This role will provide business, administrative, financial and program support to the Director Fleet Transition, who is leading the project, and will work closely with program team members, workstream leads, governance forums and internal and external stakeholders. |
