| The Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts (VCUarts) Department of Art Education is recruiting a pool of applicants on an ongoing basis for possible adjunct teaching positions. The Department of Art Education will consult the adjunct applicant pool and contact qualified applicants whose credentials match our specific teaching needs on an as-needed basis. This pool will only be assessed when an adjunct opportunity arises. Possible adjunct opportunities could include teaching a course(s) in any of the areas of study offered by the Art Education program. |

| The Honors College at Virginia Commonwealth University invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Instructor (non-tenurable) to teach courses grounded in experiential learning, primarily Honors 460: Clash of Ideas. This course investigates key intellectual debates using the Reacting to the Past pedagogy and the successful candidate will have experience and/or a willingness to use this approach. Depending upon staffing needs and expertise, the successful candidate may have the opportunity to teach in the Honors Writing Program and/or develop courses in their area of expertise. This 9-month appointment will start on August 15, 2026 and has a 4/4 teaching load. This position may be renewed yearly, for up to three years (contingent upon Dean’s approval, satisfactory performance, college needs and the availability of funding). |

| The Virginia Commonwealth University College of Humanities and Sciences is recruiting adjunct faculty for the Spring 2026 semester within the School of World Studies. The program is specifically looking for one or more instructors to teach sections of our WRLD courses, such as WRLD 203 Cultural Texts and Contexts. If successful, the possibility of teaching sections in additional semesters exists. Your application will remain active for a year; you may resubmit your application for subsequent years. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
NOTE: This is a part-time, non-benefited faculty position. Adjunct contracts are for one semester.
Position duties include:
Instruct students in World Studies classes.
Meet all designated course instruction guidelines, including course preparation, assessments, grading, records management and submission of the course syllabus.
Grade assignments and exams in a timely manner based on instructions/rubric provided.
Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours.
Submit final grades according to College/Department policy. |
