Access Specialist VCU Main Campus
The Access Specialist will assist the Office of Student Accessibility and Educational Opportunity to provide accommodation and coaching supports for students with disabilities to ensure equal access and promote success at Virginia Commonwealth University. The Access Specialist works with individual students to determine eligibility for reasonable accommodations and provides appropriate follow-up and disability-related supports. They serve as the campus resource specialist in the development of accommodations and academic adjustments for this population, providing ongoing consultation and problem-solving assistance to faculty and staff.
Experiential Learning Access Specialist VCU Main Campus
The Experiential Learning Access Specialist provides advanced case management and specialized accommodation coordination for students with disabilities in complex academic and applied learning environments. This includes graduate students as well as students engaged in internships, clinical placements, fieldwork, study abroad, and performance- or studio-based disciplines where accommodation implementation requires individualized interpretation across variable settings.

Graduate Program Academic Advisor VCU Main Campus
The VCU L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs invites applications for a Graduate Program Academic Advisor. Reporting to the Director of Academic Advising, the Graduate Academic Advisor provides holistic student support to graduate students enrolled in Wilder School masters-level programs. This position works with faculty, campus partners, and the greater academic advising community from recruitment through graduation to ensure student academic success while adhering to the Graduate School’s guidelines and academic policies. This position maintains on-going accurate records and data to monitor student progress throughout their studies and ensures that students are certified for graduation in a timely manner. • Assists graduate students by utilizing Navigate, Degreeworks, e-services, and Wilder internal databases to provide timely outreach and maintain organized student records. • Offers regularly scheduled advising appointments and establishes rapport with assigned caseload each semester. • Proactively reviews graduation applications and degree audit toward improving time to degree and ensuring students are meeting all requirements towards completing their program of study. • Fostering innovation and supporting undergraduate academic advisors in helping their students navigate accelerated masters programs. • Monitor graduate student academic performance and provide intervention when students are not in good academic standing. • Develops, implements, and evaluate strategies in alignment with the Wilder School’s retention and recruitment goals. • In addition to advising responsibilities, the Graduate Academic Advisor will work closely with the Senior Graduate Advisor and Director of Academic Advising in creating effective student-centered programming.

Research Associate - RISE VCU Main Campus
The Research Institute on Social Equity (RISE), in the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs is searching for a Research Associate with a strong background and interest in public policy and equity to work closely with the Director, Senior Research Associates, research team, and clients. The Research Associate will work on equity-based research in public policy, addressing organizational, structural, and institutional issues adversely impacting marginalized communities. The Research Associate will provide leadership and support for multiple studies that are part of the Institute’s strategy to increase public service and policy equity. The Research Associate will monitor legislation, public policy decisions and trends, and other issues related to the institute’s mission at the local, state, and federal levels related to various ongoing and prospective research projects with implications to policy fields, including housing, emergency management, health, public administration, urban planning. The Research Associate is expected to keep current on equity trends and appropriate theories of change, methods reaching marginalized communities, publications, and initiatives.
