| The Virginia Commonwealth University College of Humanities and Sciences is recruiting adjunct faculty to teach Arabic for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters within the Department of English. Candidates are expected to teach up to 3 courses (9 credit hours), in person. If successful, the possibility of teaching sections in additional semesters exists. Your application will remain active for a year; you may resubmit your application for subsequent years. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
NOTE: This is a part-time, non-benefited faculty position. Adjunct contracts are for one semester.
Position duties include:
Instruct students in Arabic classes.
Meet all designated course instruction guidelines, including course preparation, assessments, grading, records management and submission of the course syllabus.
Grade assignments and exams in a timely manner based on instructions/rubric provided.
Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours.
Submit final grades according to College/Department policy. |

Coastal Wetland Flux Tower Technician

| The Gough Lab seeks a full-time field technician to support measurements of carbon dioxide and methane biosphere-atmosphere exchange in restored coastal wetlands on the eastern shore of Virginia. The technician will join a collaborative team of investigators from VCU’s School of Life Sciences and Sustainability which is housed in the College of Humanities and Sciences, and partners from the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, Duke University, the Nature Conservancy, and NASA examining how coastal wetland restoration practices affect carbon sequestration, methane emissions, biodiversity, and other ecosystem goods and services. |
