Virginia Commonwealth University’s Division of Student Affairs is seeking a Human Resource Generalist I to provide comprehensive HR guidance and support to managers, supervisors, and employees across the division. This position serves as a trusted HR resource and provides consultation on recruitment and selection, employee relations, performance management, leave and timekeeping, benefits, classification and compensation, personnel transactions, HR policies, and employment compliance. The Human Resource Generalist I manages Tier 2 HR matters requiring independent judgment, problem-solving, discretion, and a strong understanding of HR practices and applicable employment laws. The successful candidate will build strong partnerships with department leaders and VCU Central Human Resources, help resolve complex workplace and personnel issues, support effective workforce management, and promote consistent and compliant HR practices.
