The Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) Department at Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar invites applications for adjunct faculty positions on a rolling basis. We seek dynamic, student-centered educators to teach undergraduate courses in support of the university’s general education curriculum and interdisciplinary learning environment. Adjunct faculty may be considered for courses in areas including, but not limited to: Writing and Rhetoric Humanities Social/Behavioral Sciences Mathematics Natural Sciences Interdisciplinary Studies Academic Skills and First-Year Programs Appointments are part-time and dependent on departmental needs. Key Responsibilities Teach undergraduate courses in assigned discipline(s) in accordance with university standards and course learning outcomes. Prepare course syllabi, instructional materials, assignments, and assessments. Maintain regular communication with students and provide timely feedback on coursework. Foster an engaging, welcoming, and supportive learning environment for international students from all backgrounds. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress using university systems. Adhere to departmental and university policies and procedures. Participate in meetings or training sessions as requested by the department. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in the relevant discipline or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Demonstrated teaching experience at the university level or relevant professional experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU. Eligibility to work in Qatar or meet specific immigration/employment requirements under Qatari law. Preferred Qualifications Terminal degree (PhD, MFA, or equivalent) in the relevant field. Experience teaching in interdisciplinary or general education programs. Experience teaching in international or multicultural higher education environments. Postdoctoral Fellow, Center for Biomarker Research and Precision Medicine (BPM) MCV Main Campus
About the Role The Center for Biomarker Research and Precision Medicine (BPM, https://bpm.pharmacy.vcu.edu/) at Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking a postdoctoral research fellow to join our team. Our research program aims to alleviate the substantial personal, familial, and societal burden of mental illness and substance use disorders by leveraging state-of-the-art molecular technologies to advance disease understanding and develop novel therapeutics. We conducted large-scale single-nucleus transcriptomic and methylation studies in human samples to investigate autism and alcohol use disorder. The successful candidate will perform statistical and bioinformatic analyses of these data, contribute to the development and optimization of analytical pipelines, and publish findings in leading scientific journals. This multidisciplinary and collaborative project involves both local and external partners. The position is initially for two years and offers excellent opportunities for publication and career development.

Adjunct Instructor Arabic VCU Main Campus
The Virginia Commonwealth University College of Humanities and Sciences is recruiting adjunct faculty to teach Arabic for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters within the Department of English. Candidates are expected to teach up to 3 courses (9 credit hours), in person. If successful, the possibility of teaching sections in additional semesters exists. NOTE: This is a part-time, non-benefited faculty position. Adjunct contracts are for one semester. Position duties include: Instruct students in Arabic classes.
