Internship in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care

| The objective of this small animal internship program is to provide extensive clinical training in preparation for a subsequent residency in emergency and critical care. This internship includes rotating assignments primarily in emergency and critical care medicine. In addition, elective rotations are available in medicine, surgery and anesthesiology. The intern will be under the supervision of two ECC specialists. Duties of the intern will include provision of primary and secondary care of patients in the intensive care unit; provision of emergency services outside of normal hospital hours including evenings, overnight, weekend and holiday shifts; involvement in daily case rounds, weekly house officer rounds, and weekly seminars; preparing and giving a hospital wide seminar twice during the internship; and instruction of third- and fourth-year veterinary students. Interns are encouraged to prepare a manuscript for publication in a clinical or scientific journal. |

| The Oklahoma Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (OADDL) at Oklahoma State University's College of Veterinary Medicine invites candidates to apply for the Sr. Lab Tech position in the Histology department. This position assists in preparing and processing animal tissues for histopathological interpretation by a veterinary pathologist; conducts routine histopathologic techniques; performs the routine duties of primary histotechnician, and conducts special stains; maintains records on tissues and specimens processed and stained for examination by pathologists. Assists in preparing special stain and H&E reagent solutions, as needed and serves as a back-up to the technician in charge of this duty. Maintains the histopathology laboratory and all storage areas in a clean and orderly state. Coordinates with other departments on research or special projects. Assists with clerical duties, including answering the phone, filling out forms, and mailing out laboratory samples as needed. |

Additional responsibilities including managing expenditures, budget, and licensing. Serves as a technical resource for software/hardware acquisition.
