The Langston University Police Department is now accepting applications for a full-time dispatch position. The Dispatcher is responsible for simultaneously operating a multi-channel radio console and a multi-line telephone, while maintaining computer-aided dispatch systems and other computer systems. Responsible for receiving, coordinating and disseminating critical information from various sources and maintaining radio contact with mobile/field units to monitor response, progress and any needed support. This position works in the communications center of the police station which is responsible for answering emergency calls.

This is a full-time position with varying shifts and hours. Shift differentials are available for non-traditional shifts. Our Critical Care Unit is a state-of-the-art facility and is staffed with capable, competent technicians. Our hospital is equipped with digital radiography, MRI, CT, ultrasound, endoscopy, 24-hour access to full clinical pathology lab, oxygen cages, pulse oximetry, capnography, I-Stat point-of-care testing, telemetry, blood pressure and central venous pressure monitoring, Pleur-Evac® suction units, and ventilator therapy. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to interact with small animal specialists, as well as a supportive group of interns and residents.
