| The OU Writing Center (write.ou.edu) is a pedagogical service that supports the writing development of both graduate and undergraduate students at the University of Oklahoma. Our services are also open to alumni and members of the Oklahoma City/Norman community. The Writing Center provides support through one-on-one and group consultations, workshops, writing camps, and other writing-based programming. The primary goal of the Center is to help writers learn something they can use in the future. Our staff draws on scholarship from Writing Center Studies, Writing Studies, Higher Education, and other areas to provide feedback that is thoughtful, intentional, and useful. The Writing Center encourages writers to make regular use of its services and to join our staff in meaningful conversations about writing.
Undergraduate Writing Consultants at the OU Writing Center support the work of the Writing Center, the University, and the students at the University of Oklahoma. Through this work, Writing Consultants help to fulfill the missions of 1) providing broad writing support for undergraduate students, graduate students, alumni, and the local community; and 2) creating visibility for the OU Writing Center across campus.
Writing Consultants provide support for the OU writing community both face-to-face and online. The position offers multiple opportunities for professional development, as consultants may assist with special projects, develop and lead workshops, work with community organizations, and present at academic conferences. |
