Student Employee, I-Hub (Fall) Norman
The OU Fabrication Lab, part of the Tom Love Innovation Hub, supports and promotes innovation and creativity, enables rapid prototyping, and provides opportunities for experiential learning, research translation, and professional growth for OU students and the broader university community. Student staff members play an important role in the daily operation of the Fabrication Lab and in creating a safe, welcoming, and collaborative environment for everyone who uses the space. Students in this position will assist with the operation, upkeep, and maintenance of the lab; welcome and engage with visitors; help users safely and effectively operate Fabrication Lab equipment; and perform general administrative and organizational duties. A major part of this position is helping others learn. Student staff will develop familiarity with the tools, equipment, and processes available in the Fabrication Lab and use that knowledge to guide users through the process of turning their ideas into physical prototypes and projects. Staff members are not expected to know everything when they begin the position; training and opportunities to develop technical skills will be provided.
