Associate Vice President - Research Integrity Officer

| Reporting to the Vice President and General Counsel, the University of Oklahoma-Norman, the Research Integrity Officer (RIO) promotes the responsible conduct of research. The RIO implements federal regulations, sponsors University-wide and OU-Norman policies, provides ethical conduct of research training for university constituents, and develops procedures for managing allegations of research misconduct. Manages Research Misconduct proceedings involving sponsored and non-sponsored research activities for OU-Norman.
Responsibilities:
Serves as the subject matter expert for research integrity and compliance concerns for OU-Norman
Oversees the process of managing allegations of research misconduct involving members of the OU-Norman community,
Identifies and develops training, policies, and procedures for OU-Norman pertaining to all aspects of ethical conduct of research and research integrity; establishes and promotes a culture of compliance and integrity.
Serves as a representative of the OU-Norman Campus in dealings with governmental agencies related to research misconduct proceedings and on key committees across the University.
Regularly collaborates with the Research Security Officer to identify vulnerabilities in the research enterprise related to misappropriation of research and development.
Keeps abreast on state laws, federal regulations, and national trends influencing issues related to research integrity/compliance and attends appropriate federal compliance training sessions.
Liaises as necessary with key constituents across the entire University -- including, but not limited to, the Office of the Senior Vice President and Provost, the Office of the General Counsel, the Office of Compliance, and the Research Integrity Office and RIO for the OU-Health Sciences Center, as well as with individual colleges, schools, centers, and institutes. |

| This position is responsible for supervising, training and evaluating assigned personnel. They will determine work priorities, plan schedules, assign and review work. They will serve as an active member of the service team, to include creating beverages, operating the cash register, and interacting with guests. Will work to hold restaurant employees to all best practices. Determines work priorities and assigns work to food service workers and students, while also cooking, cleaning, serving and completing necessary administrative responsibilities. Will complete other duties as assigned. Prepares food following recipes and applying individual portion control standards. Properly and safely measures, weighs and combines ingredients for quantity preparation of simple menu items. Utilizes various kitchen utensils, appliances, and heavy/industrial equipment in food preparation (ovens, knives, peelers, dicers, slicers, mixers, industrial dish machines, recycling, stoves, etc.). Serves food in a courteous and respectful manner, with proper portion control and knowledge of menu items. Load, carry, and transport hot or cold food items or containers to customers, serving lines, or dining tables-safely, efficiently and timely. Loads and transports food carts to and from designated floor units. Washes, sanitizes, and stores pots, pans and kitchen utensils in designated areas. Scrapes dishes and cleans tables, serving areas. Cleans counters and floors. Follows proper kitchen standards when cleaning/sanitizing the work area (floors, food carts, cabinets, tables, kitchen utensils and equipment, dishes, and tableware, etc.). Assists with special events across the University and across campuses that may include Presidential luncheons and dinners, catering needs, student organizational special requests, and day-to-day events. Assists other food services staff when necessary and voluntarily as much as possible. The functions described here are not all-encompassing of those an employee may encounter while on the job. |
