Performs routine cleaning in offices and public access areas within OU Residential communities. Tasks are precisely defined. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: Mops, sweeps, waxes, and polishes floors. Cleans and dusts furniture, equipment, etc. Locks and unlocks offices, classrooms, and conference areas. Contacts with others are of a routine nature. Collects and disposes of wastepaper and refuse. Vacuums carpeted areas where applicable. Maintains lavatories and rest rooms in a sanitary condition. May shovel snow from doorways and sidewalks. Performs related duties as assigned.
Parking Control Assistant Norman
Traffic Management: A parking attendant will play a crucial role in managing traffic flow within our campus parking lots. By directing vehicles efficiently, they will reduce congestion, prevent unauthorized parking, and ensure a smoother experience for students, faculty, and visitors. Customer Service: Our parking attendants will serve as the first point of contact for anyone arriving on campus. Their friendly demeanor, helpfulness, and ability to address inquiries will create a positive impression and enhance overall satisfaction. Parking Enforcement: With a dedicated attendant, we can enforce parking regulations consistently. This includes monitoring permit compliance, issuing citations when necessary, and maintaining order in our parking areas. Safety and Security: A parking attendant contributes to campus safety by promptly identifying and addressing any security concerns. They can assist during emergencies, guide visitors to safe areas, and report suspicious activities. Event Support: During special events, such as sports games, concerts, or conferences, a parking attendant will be invaluable. They can efficiently direct traffic, manage overflow parking, and ensure event attendees find suitable parking spaces. Accessibility Assistance: Our attendant can assist individuals with disabilities by providing accessible parking options and ensuring compliance with ADA regulations. This inclusivity is essential for creating an equitable campus environment.
*Food Services Worker - University Catering Norman
Performs food service, sanitation and kitchen maintenance. Serves food with proper portion control and knowledge of menu items. Greet and take customer orders, remember special requests, and deliver food in a timely manner. Load, carry, and transport hot or cold food items or containers to customers, serving lines, designated floors or dining tables-safely, efficiently, and timely. Assists with special events across the University and across campuses that may include breakfast, luncheons and dinners, catering needs, student organizational special requests, and day-to-day events. Will often transport food items from production environment to other campus/community locations. Make space ready for catering function, to include setting up serving lines with all necessary display items and utensils. Aid cooks in preparing meals and plating food as requested by the chef or other supervising employee. Serve and pack warm foods to clients in an effective manner and in strict accordance to the orders of such clients. Clean pots, pans, and any other dishes in the kitchen as needed, adhering to safety and sanitation standards at all times. Assist with cleaning the restaurant and dining area by picking up trash, clearing and washing plates and dishes, and wiping down tables as needed. Ensure food, drinks, and other items are displayed professionally while maintaining food safety standards. Properly and safely measures, weighs and combines ingredients for quantity preparation of simple menu items. Adhere to food safety standards at all times, making sure that all food is free or contaminants and pathogens that might make customers sick. Provides routine information about meals, various restaurants within Housing and Food Services, and other relevant facts to customers. Leads and/or actively participates in customer service improvement initiatives and suggests new dishes, menus, and/or methods that lead to better service. Acts on and/or acknowledges any complaint. Brings any issue or concern to a supervisor or HR's attention. Follows up on requests with a sense of urgency. Maintains professional behavior and composure in difficult interpersonal situations. Communicates with co-workers and others in calm considerate manner. Always respectful and courteous. Provide efficient, friendly, and informative service following established customer service standards and departmental core purpose/core values. Take initiative during slower times to stock items, or perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor or front-end manager. Ensure exemplary guest service through all forms of banquet service, carving stations, bartending, running food during events, buffets, plated, replenishing product and supplies in compliance with event standards. Ensure that events are properly equipped and executed by transporting, pulling, setting up and breaking down, as well as returning equipment to designated storages in compliance with event standards and instructions. Perform side work by helping to provide a safe and clean work environment. Clean, organize and restock equipment/product returning from catering events. During times of scaled back service hours, or in the best interest of Food Services, an employee may be required to work a food line, work in the storeroom, cook or be a cashier, possibly in another campus unit. At any point, based on business needs, will complete other duties as assigned. ***Normally, employees on a 5-hour shift receive a free meal. Uniforms are provided at no cost, but must be maintained by the employee.***
*Golf Course Turf Specialist Norman
Performs golf course maintenance and other landscape duties on the golf course property. The golf course maintenance worker uses and operates golf course maintenance and/or landscaping tools and equipment as needed, to maintain golf course property and landscapes. Functions of the golf course maintenance worker are as follows: Mowing and maintaining of greens, tees, fairways, rough, native areas and any other areas as directed by his/her supervisor. Raking, trimming and maintaining of bunkers as directed by his/her supervisor. Hand-watering of turf areas as directed by his/her supervisor. Hand trimming/edging cart paths, curbs, trees, etc. as directed by his/her supervisor. Application of some pesticides and fertilizers under the direction and supervision of his/her supervisor. Operates and uses golf course maintenance equipment and tools correctly and safely as directed by his/her supervisor. Ensures that the assigned equipment being used is working at all times; refills fuel daily; cleans equipment daily; and reports equipment problems or failures to Equipment Manager immediately. Provides basic preventive maintenance on equipment as directed by the equipment manager or assistant superintendent and returns equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility. Informs his/her supervisor of any issues. problems or failures on or around the golf course property immediately. Performs other duties essential to the operation as directed by his/her supervisor.
