Fellow, Postdoctoral Research Oklahoma City
Dr. Weiqin Chen in the Department of Biochemistry and Physiology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) invites applications for a full-time postdoctoral research scholar position. This position will involve conducting molecular, biochemical, physiological, and genetic analyses using in vitro cellular and in vivo animal models and writing manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications, reports, and presentations to academic and community audiences. The candidate will also gain experience in grantsmanship and research design, planning, and execution. Dr. Chen’s research focuses on elucidating the biological mechanisms underlying cardiometabolic diseases. Her lab is well funded by the NHLBI and NIDDK. The lab uses cutting-edge techniques such as large-scale “-Omics,” genomic editing, and advanced imaging, with cells and mice as models to study obesity, lipodystrophy, heart failure, and fatty liver diseases. Applicants with a doctoral degree in another discipline may be considered if they possess adequate skills to conduct biomedical research. Oversees the overall operation, administration and performance of day-to-day operation of Starbucks. Responsible for staff, including hiring, firing, training, and conducting performance evaluations. Operations functions include some cash reporting, payroll and timekeeping. Responsible for adherence to franchise requirements. This position is responsible for supervising, training and evaluating assigned personnel. They will determine work priorities, plan schedules, assign and review work. They will serve as an active member of the service team, to include creating beverages, operating the cash register, and interacting with guests. Utilizes various kitchen utensils, appliances, and heavy/industrial equipment in food preparation (ovens, knives, peelers, dicers, slicers, mixers, industrial dish machines, recycling, stoves, etc.). Serves food in a courteous and respectful manner, with proper portion control and knowledge of menu items. Load, carry, and transport hot or cold food items or containers to customers, serving lines, or dining tables-safely, efficiently and timely. Loads and transports food carts to and from designated floor units. Washes, sanitizes, and stores pots, pans and kitchen utensils in designated areas. Scrapes dishes and cleans tables, serving areas. Cleans counters and floors. Follows proper kitchen standards when cleaning/sanitizing the work area (floors, food carts, cabinets, tables, kitchen utensils and equipment, dishes, and tableware, etc.). Assists with special events across the University and across campuses that may include Presidential luncheons and dinners, catering needs, student organizational special requests, and day-to-day events. Assists other food services staff when necessary and voluntarily as much as possible. The functions described here are not all-encompassing of those an employee may encounter while on the job.
