| The Department of Chemistry (www.chem.umass.edu) invites applications for a nine-month, full-time, non-tenure track Lecturer position starting Fall semester 2027. The Lecturer will be expected to perform the duties of a lead instructor of General, Organic Chemistry, and/or Inorganic Chemistry courses, teaching lecture sections and laboratory. This position will have a typical teaching load of 2 undergraduate lecture sections per semester or a laboratory course and a lecture section. The initial appointment is for one year with the possibility of renewal upon successful performance review. The candidate should have a proven commitment to outstanding teaching. A commitment to educational/professional development and service is strongly encouraged.
Qualified candidates must have completed a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related area at the time of application. The successful candidate will demonstrate an interest in joining a team of instructors dedicated to excellence in teaching using modern, evidence-based pedagogical approaches, with an emphasis on inclusiveness and accessibility to support the success of a diverse student body. |

| The Plumber and Steamfitter I installs, repairs, alters and maintains fluid transmission systems, sanitary fixtures, heating systems, low and high pressure steam lines, condensate lines, water lines, sprinkler lines, sewer lines; and performs other related work as required, including but not limited to, trade related asbestos abatement, repairs and/or initiates repairs on building systems such as; pneumatic control systems, heating and ventilation (HVAC) systems, cooling towers, pumps and related equipment. Employing the use and need of specialized testing and monitoring, diagnostic equipment; works synchronously with Control Technicians / trade personnel maintaining the building systems integrity, exercises functional supervision of other employees of lower grade performing related repair and maintenance activities. |

| The Service Desk Specialist I (EDP I) assists members of the UMass Amherst community (students, staff and faculty) with a wide range of technology and IT account related questions in person, over the telephone, by email, through the web, or via chat. The Service Desk Specialist I documents all user communications in Service Desk ticket tracking system and uses sound judgment when analyzing client questions in order to fulfill service requests and identify problems, determining appropriate strategies for troubleshooting/fulfillment and reassigning/referring the issue where appropriate. |
