Temporary Professional - Advanced Practice Clinician (Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant) Amherst
Under general direction of Medical Director for University Health Services and under the supervision of one or more physicians, provides health care, including acute episodic illness and/or injury, chronic disease management, and health maintenance, for patients of the University Health Service (UHS). Evaluates and treats common acute injuries and illness using guidelines and physician consultation by phone when necessary. Triages and refers any patients to physicians that require further evaluation. Provides these services for UHS patients and campus visitors. With general supervision functions independently within the scope of departmental and institutional policies and procedures; refers exceptions to Medical Director for University Health Services.
Post Doctoral Research Associate - Galaxy Formation & Evolution Amherst
The Postdoctoral Research Associate, focused on galaxy formation and evolution, will work in collaboration with Prof. Sinclaire Manning and Prof. Jorge Zavala, as well as other faculty members in the Department of Astronomy, using observations from different facilities, including ALMA, JWST, and the LMT. These datasets are well-suited for studying a wide range of topics such as dusty star-forming galaxies, massive galaxies across cosmic time, the dust and gas properties of galaxies, galaxy proto-clusters, and ultra-high-redshift galaxies. A fraction of the time may be dedicated to the applicants’ own research projects on related topics.

Post Doctoral Res Assoc - BioPhysics Amherst
The Debold Muscle Biophysics Lab is seeking talented applicants for a full-time, Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the Kinesiology Department as part of a five-year grant from the NIH to study the molecular mechanisms underlying muscle contraction, intracellular transport, and the formation of complex cellular structures. The goal of this work is to understand how the load-dependent proteins of the molecular motor myosin enable it to perform complex cellular processes when working as a team of motors. We are searching for a highly motivated single molecular biophysicist familiar with the laser trap and in vitro motility assays. These skills will be used to characterize the single molecule and mini-ensemble properties of three different classes of myosin: muscle myosin II, myosin III and myosin V. The goal of this project is to understand how the single molecule properties of these myosin's give rise to the complex behavior they demonstrate in multi-motor teams.
