Reporting to the Principal (Programs) Training and Development your key responsibilities will be to implement the training programs required to develop the quality and quantity of BMA employees with mine site statutory qualifications.  The initial focus will be on OCE and ERZ Controller (Deputy) programs.  You will be required manage the process through from selection, training, learning plan implementation, site development rotation and preparation for the Board of Examiners assessment process.  You will do this through the contract training providers, site training teams and site management teams.  Your core accountablisities will include the following;

• Demonstrating and instilling an overiding commitment to BHP Billiton Charter, Code of Buiness Conduct, health, safety, environmental responsabilty and sustainable development.
• Leadership.  Champion the statutory training program with Operations and HR teams.
• Scheduling.  Manage the program schedule through from selection to program completion.  Work with the contract training providers to develop and implement learning plans.
• Technical. Implement the statutory training program.  Conduct a business wide training needs analysis to develop a training plan to ensure qualification processes are met.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have previous demonstrated experience working in a Training role in Mining and posses a minimum of Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or other relevant qualification.  An understanding of the Queensland Coal Mining Safety and Health Act, Regulation and other applicable legislation is required along with a clear understanding of the RII09 Resources and Infrastructure Industry Training Package.  Experience and/or statutory qualifications in underground or surface coal mining will an advantage. 

The position will be based in Brisbane with regular travel to site.  An excellent remuneration package will be offered including a competitive salary, performance bonus, subsidised accommodation and salary sacrificing options. BMA will consider proposals from suitably qualified applicants for part time employment on a job-share basis. Remuneration will be paid in accordance with the successful applicant's experience and qualifications.
