Located 560 kilometres north of Adelaide, South Australia, Olympic Dam is Australia's largest underground mine and minerals processing operation, possessing the world's largest uranium deposit, fourth largest copper deposit, fourth largest gold deposit and a significant silver deposit - all on the one site. A proposal to further capitalise on this rich polymetallic ore body is currently under study to develop a large-scale open pit mine and significantly expand the process plant and associated infrastructure.
