Portfolio Specialist

Our Portfolio Management Office (PMO) is a fast-paced, challenging, exciting place to be and we are looking for a Portfolio Specialist to join this dedicated team.  In this role you will be tasked with facilitating the governance process for insurance and technology project portfolios.

As a Portfolio Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring that all portfolio projects across the Suncorp NZ Strategic priorities are visible meet prescribed input standards and are maintained according to agreed frameworks.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Review initiatives (program/ project/ small change) within the portfolio for alignment to objectives within the 3 Year Plan for Insurance NZ & Technology, Data and Labs.
  • Produce analysis to highlight strategic alignment.
  • Produce analysis to highlight progress of activity with the portfolio.
  • Produce analysis to highlight status compliance to Portfolio risk appetite.
  • Produce analysis to make transparent both funding allocations and benefits delivery.
  • Maintain a current view of business unit resourcing engaged in change activity.
  • Make recommendations for improvement based on above analysis.
  • Maintain frameworks and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Strong focus on project delivery risk reporting
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders

 

What you'll need to succeed 

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a PMO or across a large programme of work
  • Knowledge of change and release management process and procedures as well as end to end governance
  • Proven ability to engage people and manage relationships
  • Understanding of Project Management Methodologies
  • Project Management qualification beneficial and ideally experience applying Agile techniques
  • Our ideal candidate will have an analytical mindset, and the ability to be flexible in their work.
