About the role

We have a great opportunity for a skilled Principal Authentication Engineer to join the Infrastructure Engineering team based out of Brisbane. As the Principal Authentication Engineer, you will provide technical leadership and governance in maintaining the Suncorp Authentication Platforms and provide critical support, advice and oversight where required. You’ll also provide technical leadership as Suncorp undergoes a major transformation of the Platforms and as it continues its journey to Cloud offerings.

Suncorp provides a range of authentication and identity services based on a number of Technologies and Platforms including:

  • Azure Active Directory
  • Active Directory
  • Active Directory Federation Services
  • DNS
  • DHCP
  • Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
  • Public SSL Certificates
  • RSA SecurID Authentication Manager
  • Public Domain Name Management

 Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to the Infrastructure Engineering & Delivery Leadership team
  • Provide input to critical decisions regarding Authentication and Identity platforms
  • Review & develop high quality reports and papers for consumption by the Infrastructure Engineering & Delivery leadership team
  • Build and maintain effective relationships across key leaders and teams in both the Business and Technology divisions
  • Provide consulting services to technical teams for integrating Internal Identity platforms
  • Champion continuous improvement for Internal Identity platforms and services
  • Maintain technical roadmaps for the Internal Identity platforms
  • Work with Service Providers, Technical Teams, Architects and Designers to ensure that the Platform meets customer and technical expectations
  • Work with the Infrastructure Engineering & Delivery teams to take corrective actions when required
  • Provide evidence-based assessments of readiness, based on various data sources
  • Ensure that changes adhere to the corporate processes and are of a high quality
  • Lead the Identity platform component on all Problem and Incident management occurrences
  • Provide technical leadership for the Internal Identity Platform team members

Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience in the technology industry with emphasis on Authentication and Security transformation
  • Tertiary Qualification in Information Technology highly regarded
  • Excellent knowledge/experience in IT delivery methodologies or project management
  • Previous experience working in an Agile environment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Previous experience in working with distributed teams and working through periods of change
  • Excellent adaptive team leadership capabilities including the ability to foster productive team dynamics, engage and enable teams and coach for performance
