Principal Test Engineer

About the role

The Principal Test Engineer plays a pivotal role in developing and implementing automated testing frameworks aligned with industry best practices. They are responsible for ensuring the highest quality in testing across the end-to-end cycle of projects. This role involves providing expert technical advice, handling complex issues, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver quality outcomes for customers. Additionally, the Principal Test Engineer mentors other Software Test Engineers and ensures testing processes contribute to broader software engineering operations and excellence.

What you’ll do

• Lead and execute testing strategies, process improvements, and standards for your deliverables
• Provide thought leadership in QA practices and continuously drive improvements in the QA domain
• Ensure the relevant types and levels of testing (e.g., functional, system, integration, regression, performance, etc.) are executed and planned into the delivery lifecycle
• Design, develop, and implement frameworks that build quality, automation, and security into Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration pipelines
• Work with the team to deliver both automated and manual tests to meet delivery milestones

What you’ll bring

• Minimum 10+ years appropriate industry experience in a Principal/Lead Test Engineer role
• Experience in API automation
• Bring industry best practices to the Test chapter and help uplifting junior resources.
• Must have experience in programming/scripting languages (Java, JavaScript, Groovy, Python, etc.)
• Experience in either Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, Aplitool
• Good knowledge in adopting or implementing test automation frameworks
• Proven experience in leading, advising and mentoring junior Software Test Engineers
