About the role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (SSE) to join our team, focusing on enhancing engineering capabilities through collaboration with Delivery leaders and the Engineering team. In this role, you will develop web applications, APIs, and microservices to support strategic initiatives. As an integral part of the Agile development lifecycle, you will engage in DevOps practices, including Continuous Integration and deployment. Additionally, you will lead system analysis, design, development, and ongoing support, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
What you’ll do
- Coach and mentor engineers to improve their capabilities and embed best practices
- Act as the first point of contact for engineers and a conduit to Domain technical leaders
- Evangelise secure software development principles through practices like code reviews and threat modelling
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of guidelines for Continuous Delivery, automation, and security
- Perform unit and integration testing, including thorough unit and system test plans
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years of software engineering experience including 2+ years mentoring engineers
- Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, and Spring Hibernate for building APIs and microservices
- Strong experience with Agile development methodologies and source code, configuration, and build management tools
- Proven ability to resolve complex technical issues and mentor engineers
- Familiarity with React, JBoss, Tomcat, Oracle, and SQL databases
