About the Role:
As a Senior Salesforce Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the ongoing transformation of our Commercial & Personal Injury business. We're delivering a next-generation CRM experience for users as part of a broader digital transformation initiative.
This is a senior technical role that will suit an individual who is forward-thinking and passionate about platform excellence. You will be responsible for helping drive the strategic direction of our Salesforce platform, ensuring it is secure, scalable, and efficient. You will work closely with our Salesforce Developers, Administrators, and Product Owner to design and implement programmatic solutions, DevOps frameworks, and automation capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the technical governance of the platform, including development standards, peer review practices, and release management.
- Take ownership of all programmatic change – including Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Components, Flows, and API integrations.
- Mentor and support junior Salesforce developers; drive uplift in team technical capability and code quality.
- Lead the design and implementation of a CI/CD pipeline for Salesforce, including version control, automated deployments, and quality gates.
- Champion automated testing approaches including unit tests, Apex test classes, and integration testing frameworks.
- Work with the broader Salesforce team to interpret and validate business requirements considering scalability, performance, and security.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the enterprise to build resilient and future-ready Salesforce solutions.
About You:
- 5+ years' experience as a Salesforce Developer, with at least 2+ years in a senior or lead capacity.
- Demonstrated experience leading or contributing to Salesforce DevOps, including CI/CD automation, version control (Git/Bitbucket), and deployment tools (Gearset, Copado, Jenkins, or SFDX CLI).
- Experience in designing and implementing automated test frameworks and ensuring strong code coverage.
- Strong background in Apex development, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce, and Flow Builder.
- Proven ability to mentor and support developers, conduct peer code reviews, and maintain clean, reusable codebases.
- Proficiency in OOP design patterns and principles.
- Familiarity with Salesforce API integrations (REST/SOAP), SOQL/SOSL, and front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and the Aura framework.
- Understanding of platform security, permissioning, environment strategies, and sandbox management.
- Experience with Agile delivery methodologies.
- Prior experience with Financial Services Cloud is preferred but not mandatory.
- Insurance industry experience is preferred but not mandatory.
