About the role
The Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible for contributing to the build, improvement and promotion of DevOps capabilities and practices for mission critical programs. For us this means improving our business agility, driving operational excellence and optimising our use of the platforms. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams across Technology & Operations to drive automation, enhance development enablement platforms, and ensure seamless technology integration.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with DevOps engineers and other teams to design, build, and maintain DevOps solutions and capabilities, tooling focused on improving agility and developer productivity, infrastructure automation, robust CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
- Work closely with Agile software development teams to support the integration of DevOps practices within the software development lifecycle
- Contribute to the analysis, development, and continuous improvement of systems, ensuring solutions align with Suncorp’s operational standards and environments
- Help maintain scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure that supports rapid development and deployment cycles
- Support automation initiatives aimed at optimising operational workflows and reducing manual intervention
What you'll bring
- 5+ years’ experience as DevOps / Systems / Software Engineer
- Knowledge of Python, Shell, JavaScript, REST API integration, Terraform, and Ansible for infrastructure and configuration automation
- Strong hands-on AWS experience (EC2, S3, VPC, EKS/ROSA), including automation and cloud monitoring
- Creating and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab CI/CD, Harness or Bamboo
- Integration of security and monitoring tools like Snyk, Fortify, Dynatrace, Splunk, and ServiceNow
- Experience with environment and release management tools
