About the Role

The Pricing Analyst sits within the Consumer Insurance area and reports to the Pricing Manager, Pricing Queries & Validation. In this role, you’ll manage pricing queries for Suncorp Insurance brands (Home, Motor, and Specialist Insurance), provide analytical support for pricing recommendations, and assist in operational and long-term pricing initiatives.
You will be a key point of contact for internal stakeholders, including contact centres, distribution areas, portfolio teams, and IT, ensuring that pricing queries are addressed promptly and effectively.
What you'll do
- Manage the pricing queries escalation process and respond within agreed SLAs
- Resolve pricing complaints and provide clear feedback to stakeholders
- Provide analytical support for pricing recommendations and price adjustments
- Assist with operational changes to enable real-time identification of individual risk
- Support address database updates and liaise with internal teams to implement changes
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc pricing reports for business stakeholders
- Maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across Commercial & Consumer Insurance, contact centres, and IT
- Contribute to long-term pricing projects and process improvements

What you'll bring
Mandatory:
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, or Actuarial fields
- Minimum 1 year experience in an analytical role, preferably in Personal Insurance
Essential skills:
- High-level problem-solving, numeracy, and analytical skills
- Strong ability to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
Highly desirable:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Tableau
- Basic knowledge of programming software/languages (e.g., SAS, R, Python)
- Understanding of insurance pricing, database structures, and data warehousing
- Experience with mainframe systems (e.g., Protect)
