Objective of the Role:
The Pricing Analyst will develop and maintain accurate competitor pricing models using advanced analytical and modelling techniques. The role also involves effectively communicating insights to stakeholders and making recommendations that align with the company’s strategic direction for the insurance brands and products.
Key Accountabilities:
- Conduct competitor price comparisons to support the company’s brand strategy. Monitor competitor pricing movements and market share, incorporating relevant insights into pricing recommendations and proposals
- Develop statistical models to predict competitor pricing. Research competitor behaviours and strategies to build a deep understanding of pricing factors and approaches
- Identify, investigate, and implement new modelling techniques to improve accuracy and predictive capability
- Drive innovation by enhancing current processes and promoting automation
- Design and maintain dashboards and reports to meet business needs, including report automation. Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis for various stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Relevant degree in Actuarial Studies, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science or related field.
Experience Requirements:
- Strong analytical skills in data science, statistical modelling, and predictive modelling
- Ability to independently conduct statistical analysis and research
- Proficiency in SAS and R is essential; experience with Python and SQL is desirable
- Experience working with large and complex datasets
- Industry experience in Financial Services, preferably General Insurance, with a sound understanding of insurance products, market dynamics, and customer segments.
