As Systems Accountant Leader, you’ll guide a team of specialist accountants to optimise General Ledger (GL) interface postings and data integrity across insurance registry systems. You’ll collaborate with diverse stakeholders, champion continuous improvement, and contribute to Suncorp’s purpose-led transformation.
What You’ll Do
- Lead a team accountable for timely and accurate GL interface postings, troubleshooting data integrity issues and driving system enhancements
- Develop business requirements, facilitate user acceptance testing, and deliver training for system releases
- Maintain Finance reference data tables and ensure the integrity of system interface mappings
- Partner with Technology and Finance teams to resolve production problems and improve efficiency and quality of GL data
- Support external advisors and auditors on finance system architecture, processes, and upgrades
- Drive a strategy of continuous improvement, recommending changes to product systems and sub-ledgers for optimal business outcomes
What You’ll Bring
- Extensive experience in financial accounting, reporting, and Product Systems/GL Interface design
- Proven ability to coach and mentor others, building technical knowledge and expertise within the team
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage complex relationships and resolve conflicts
- Thorough working knowledge of Product System Interfaces, Reconciliation Automation, and accounting principles
- Strong analytical skills, commercial acumen, and a proactive approach to driving change and process improvements
- Experience in insurance product systems (e.g., ClaimCentre) and delivering high-quality results within short timeframes
