As Principal Data Scientist, you’ll report to the Head of AI and lead the design and delivery of impactful Data Science and AI projects. You’ll foster a creative, safe environment, coaching teams to achieve excellence.
With access to market-leading AI tools and Suncorp’s rich data assets, you’ll collaborate with business leaders to develop solutions that deliver significant value.
What you’ll do
- Design and deliver high-impact AI and Data Science initiatives, including GenAI models, to improve customer service, claims, sales, and risk optimisation
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to solve business challenges and ensure scalable deployment of solutions
- Build strong relationships across the organisation, showcasing value through prototypes and presentations
- Apply Suncorp’s AI risk and ethical frameworks to ensure responsible solutions
- Share insights on emerging AI trends and contribute to the Group’s strategy and broader AI community
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field mandatory (data science, machine learning, statistics, actuarial, engineering, mathematics, etc.) with Post-Grad qualifications highly valued.
- 10+ years of experience in Data Science, AI, or closely related disciplines
- Experience in developing and implementing production AI & Data Science pipelines involving Machine Learning algorithms is mandatory, with experience working on Databricks being highly valued
