The Role

The Medical Scientist:

  • Primarily works within the Core Laboratory which provides a 24-hours, 7 days a week diagnostic service in Clinical Chemistry, Haematology, Coagulation and Blood Bank.
  • Works across all areas of this multidisciplinary laboratory and acts as a sole scientist on the out of hours roster and participates in the emergency on call roster.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term, full time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of six (6) months. 

Please note that hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Classification: Allied Health Professional Level 1-2

Salary $71,441 - $107,878 per annum (pro rata) + 11.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Satisfactory completion of an appropriate allied health professional course of study at a recognised tertiary institution and registered with the relevant Board or, in the case of unregulated professions, eligible for membership of the relevant professional association.

*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
