Provide support and assistance to the nursing and medical staff in relation to the care and safety of patients at the Spencer Clinic. Spencer Clinic is an acute mental health inpatient unit sited within NWRH Burnie Hospital Campus
Assist staff with:
-
- General patient care and supervision.
- Psychiatric emergency or potential emergency situations.
- With the support and guidance from the Nurse Unit Manager, Associate Nurse Unit Manager or Nurse in Charge of the shift participate in seclusion and restraint of patients adhering to all authorised Code Black training.
Patient/Client Services:

- Assist staff making and changing beds; toileting, showering or bathing for non-ambulatory, heavy or physically compromised patients.
- Assist nursing staff in the High Dependency Unit (HDU) as required.
- Participate in patient care and monitoring under the direct supervision of nursing staff. As ward priorities permit, participate in carrying out cleaning duties in HDU.
Training:

- Participate in appropriate training and staff development activities, mandatory training including performance development and planning.

Details of Appointment
Fixed term, part time, shift worker position, working up to 32 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible until 1 March 2025.
Please note that hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
Classification:
Salary $65,236 - $68,925 per annum (pro rata) + 11.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
