The Role

Undertaking the statutory role of Chief Civil Psychiatrist and Chief Forensic Psychiatrist as provided for in the new Mental Health Act 2013.

Providing high level specialist advice in relation to mental health policy and clinical practice within the Department of Health (DoH), to the Minister, Secretary, Chief Executives - South and North/North West (CEs) and other Operating Units in relation to mental health policy, clinical practice and legislation that regulates mental health care and treatment and affects professional practice. This is with the aim of promoting continuous quality improvement and supporting the delivery of safe, effective and high quality integrated mental health care and treatment.

Leading a small team that supports the Chief Psychiatrist to fulfil those obligations.

Details of Appointment

Fixed term full time day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible for a 12-month period.

Please note that hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Classification: 

Salary $124,371 - $130,905 per annum (pro rata) + 11.5% superannuation 

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
