The Role

Melbourne Water is a significant land owner and manager in the Melbourne region. As the Asset Practitioner, Land you’ll be responsible for the development of integrated 3-5 year rolling land management investment programs that deliver the land services required to support the delivery of Melbourne Water’s core services and maximise the benefits that Melbourne Water’s land portfolio  provides our customers and the broader community.

Your Skills and Experience

To be successful you will have the following abilities;

  • Experience in land and/or natural resource  management.
  • Previous experience managing projects and budget requirements.
  • The ability to deliver projects and project components as part of the agreed annual work programs working with internal partners to develop collaborative and integrated 3-5 investment programs.
  • Coordinate and prioritise your time to deliver on long-term objectives while managing day-to-day challenges within tight timeframes and work unsupervised
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills which adds value to business both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in strategic management of land assets would be advantageous


Your ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders is required together with a Tertiary qualification in engineering, natural resource management, project management, or related technical discipline and an appreciation and understanding of asset management principles .
