The Role

Reporting to one of our experienced Leading Hands, these roles will support the maintenance project works across our waterways and land assets.

At Melbourne Water we have multiple full time, part time, ongoing, fixed and short term roles across various locations working as a Crew Natural Resource Management member. If you have a passion for the environment, love working outside and have a background or keen interest in horticulture, environmental science, landscaping, or land management then we are wanting you to join our dynamic team.

These roles are based from our North, South, East, West and Central regions working along Melbourne’s beautiful waterways and unique grasslands. These customer facing roles contribute to enhancing the livability for all Melbournians. Your ability to take care of your colleagues and your own Health & Safety will see you succeed within this role.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Experience in natural resource management or civil asset maintenance/project works is highly regarded
  • Sound interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide range of people both within Melbourne Water, external organisations and with the general public
  • Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations
  • Ability to work proactively as a member of the team, contribute fully to team decision-making and take responsibility for own role in ensuring the safety of all team members and other personnel on site
  • Proven ability to work and contribute in a team environment to improve processes, respond to various demands and manage multiple activities simultaneously
  • A valid Victorian Driver’s license is required for this role
