This full time permanent role will be based both at our North East Regional Office, Croydon South and Working from home. As the Service Lead Water Resources & Compliance you’ll be responsible for leading team members, providing program leadership, direction and technical guidance for Environmental Water Delivery, Diversions function and compliance.
You will be responsible for the management of Melbourne Water’s diversions function including surface water and works license administration, management of metering assets, compliance, customer engagement, policy development and reporting.
You will ensure the safe, effective and efficient delivery of Melbourne Water, water resource & compliance obligations, programs and services. Your proven leadership within the Water Industry or Environmental Science will see you lead the management and delivery of environmental water resources across Port Phillip and Westernport Region in support of strategic objectives and in collaboration with Victorian Environmental Water Holder and other key stakeholders to meet MW’s statutory obligations.
You will also provide guidance and mentoring to the team and more broadly to Waterway and Catchment Services for the management of compliance and enforcement actions.

This role of Water Amenity Advice Project Officer will lead a project to determine the scope and purpose of the increased land-use planning role and the information and systems needed to support it, over the short, medium and long term.
The purpose of the Stormwater Investigations Planner position is to provide technical leadership to see Melbourne Water achieve the Stormwater Performance Objectives set out in our Healthy Waterways Strategy; this will include fostering partnerships to see IWM occur in greenfield and infill development areas, developing strong business cases for incentives projects with our partners, and leveraging existing programs to maximise good stormwater management and integrated water managment (i.e.; the offsets program or strengthening evidence for land use policy changes).
The role will lead and be involved in technical engineering investigations, stormwater management controls, catchment level engineering investigations and broader integrated water management. They will provide leadership and support to other team members with their sound technical mindset.
The core functions are;
Development and implement of a range of stormwater related business cases (e.g. integrated water management, stormwater management, infiltration and harvesting projects, planning controls.).
Undertake feasibility studies and business case development.
Technical input into policy decision (i.e.; how to best implement land use policy changes from a practical stand point)
Manage external consultants in the preparation of strategies, feasibility studies and business case submissions for stormwater priorities aligned to Melbourne’s Healthy Waterways Strategy.
