About the role

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our Caval Ridge Team. 

As our new Health and Safety Advisor you will report to the project Health & Safety Manager and support the maintenance and effectiveness of the site's Safety and Health Management System. This is a dynamic, hands-on role where flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly are key to your success.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with the coordination of all functional safety issues including the maintenance of relevant records and reports
  • Facilitate Incident Investigations
  • Coaching and mentoring infield interactions
  • Play a pivotal role in the implementation of the injury management process
  • Drive a strong safety culture and liaise with other departments to ensure achievement of the site's safety objectives
  • Champion all applicable Health and Safety Laws, Regulations and statutory obligations at all times.

About you

The successful candidate will have –

  • proven experience, of at least 2 years, working as an HSE Advisor in the mining industry, with a strong understanding of mining operations and associated hazards.
  • solid knowledge of relevant HSE legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • tertiary level qualifications in health or safety or be working towards.
  • demonstrated ability to develop and deliver effective HSE training programs and experience in incident investigation techniques, risk assessments, and emergency response planning.
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • strong problem-solving and analytical abilities and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritising tasks and managing competing deadlines effectively.
