About the role

As our next Electrical Leading Hand, reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results.

The Lake Vermont Coal Project is situated in Dysart, North Queensland.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

• Lead a team of skilled electricians in servicing, repair and maintenance of AC drive Electric Haul Trucks, workshops and facilities as directed in accordance with Thiess maintenance systems documentation.
• Drive a positive team culture and ensure crew safety compliance to our SHMS.
• Assist and lead the crew in General Maintenance, Breakdowns, Services and Component Change outs.
• Ensure completion of periodical Statutory Electrical Testing/ Inspections within required timeframes.
• Source technical information from the relevant available reference manuals, technical bulletins, OEM and computer-based systems.
• Open and close work orders, order parts and monitor component strategies.
• Perform basic maintenance planning.

Roster & Conditions

• 7 on 7 off rotating shift roster
• 12.5 hour day shift
• Permanent position
• Camp Accommodation provided
• A bus will be provided from Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Yeppoon & Maryborough
• Flights from Brisbane available

Our Requirements

To be successful in this role you are required to have:

• Queensland Electrical Fitter Mechanic Trade Certificate
• Sound knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 & AS/NZS 3007
• Experienced in high voltage equipment maintenance
• Post-trade experience working in the Mining industry with diesel electric haul trucks, preferably Liebherr and/or Komatsu.
• Experience conducting statutory testing on electrical infrastructure 
• Statement of Attainment for HV Switching
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Familiarity with Maintenance Management systems (JDE/SAP)
• Good base level skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
