About the role

We are looking for a Health and Safety Advisor to join our Caval Ridge Project in the Bowen Basin, Moranbah. Reporting to the Project Health & Safety Manager, you will support the maintenance and effectiveness of the site's Safety and Health Management System. This dynamic, hands-on role requires flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly for success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead investigations of incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Assist in coordinating all functional safety issues, including maintaining relevant records and reports.
  • Play a pivotal role in implementing the injury management process.
  • Deliver key safety messages at forums to enhance awareness and engagement.
  • Foster a strong safety culture and collaborate with other departments to achieve the site's safety objectives.
  • Champion compliance with all applicable Health and Safety Laws, Regulations, and statutory obligations at all times.

About you

  • Proven 2+ years experience as an HSE Advisor
  • Strong understanding of mining operations and associated hazards
  • The ability to facilitate ICAM Investigations 
  • Solid knowledge of HSE legislation, regulations, and industry best practices
  • Tertiary level qualifications in health or safety, or actively pursuing them
  • Expertise in developing and delivering effective HSE training programs
  • Proficiency in incident investigation techniques (ICAM) and risk assessments (WRAC)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Advanced computer skills
