About the role
This role is responsible for developing and maintaining efficient and accurate technical training and assessment materials that align with
business requirements, incorporating best practices and training standards across Thiess' operational jurisdictions.
In this role, you will:
- Participate in the performance management process, including maintaining performance records and feedback notes.
- Analyse and interpret national training standards across Thiess' operational regions.
- Gather and apply best practices in training and assessment across Thiess operations.
- Support projects in implementing Thiess Institute Certified training materials and assessment frameworks.
- Develop interactive eLearning courses, instructional materials, and blended learning solutions.
- Apply instructional design principles to create engaging and effective training experiences.
- Digitise learning content for accessibility via Learning Management Systems (LAAMP) and online platforms.
- Create technical videos, animations, and multimedia content to support training objectives.
- Design and maintain SharePoint-based Learning Portals for structured training resource access.
- Assist in the development, maintenance, and improvement of classroom and online training materials.
- Maintain and update training content in Thiess Learning Management System (LAAMP).
- Review and recommend improvements to instructional design, training materials, and assessments.
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance of training materials across all Thiess operational regions.
- Manage version control and change management for training content, tracking updates and improvements.
- Validate training materials to align with the latest industry standards, compliance requirements, and best practices.
- Provide expertise in curriculum improvement and training methodology enhancements.
- Develop interactive eLearning modules using Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, and multimedia tools.
- Integrate SCORM, and mobile-responsive designs to enhance eLearning experiences.
- Optimise training delivery through digital platforms, simulations, and virtual learning tools.
- Enhance learning engagement through gamification, microlearning, and interactive media.
- Support cross-regional eLearning adaptation and localisation.
About you
- Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Learning & Development, Multimedia Design, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Instructional Design, eLearning Development, or Content Design.
- Proven experience in developing, managing, and delivering graphic design
- Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Advanced computer literacy required, MS Office Suite, Articulate Storyline, Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe After Effects, or similar software design tools.
- Experience in storyboarding, and instructional strategies
- Experience with changing management processes for training resources.
- Strong verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
- Able to manage conflict resolution and demonstrate resilience
- Able to research regional legislation that applies within the mining and training industry
- Flexible to cope with change and deadlines
- Able to provide guidance and advice and influence where appropriate to achieve desired outcomes
- Fluent in English both oral and written
