About the role

We are currently seeking a Site Manager to join our team at our at Lake Vermont near Dysart QLD.

This key senior management role reports to the Project Manager and will be responsible for collaboratively delivering high quality solutions and results.  As part of the site leadership team, you will be initially responsible for the direct management of key functional teams.

This role will be accountable for the safe and effective delivery of total production, commercial, technical services and maintenance accountabilities for the Project. You will drive performance in the areas of planning, operational discipline, relationship management, safety programs, people development and business improvement projects that continuously promote and drive the Project’s delivery.

About you

  • A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering is highly desirable
  • QLD SSE Practising certificate or desire to obtain
  • It is essential that you work effectively with the senior leadership team to ensure the delivery of all business objectives
  • Experience at senior management level from a Mining Contractors perspective 
  • Safety is a value that must be at the forefront of how you conduct yourself 
  • Highly developed communication skills 
  • A proven understanding of the key aspects of large-scale coal mining including people management, plant optimisation, planning, scheduling, cost control and problem solving 
  • Good working knowledge of HME Plant Operation / Maintenance and Mining Operational Efficiency 
  • Financial and Commercial Acumen with a focus on unit rate performance 
  • The ability to build and manage relationships with both internal & external stakeholders / authorities.
