About the role

As our next Underground Production Engineer reporting to the Alternate Underground Manager, you will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results.

This permanent, full time opportunity is based at our Leinster Underground Project, WA. The position is offered on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth

In this role, you will:

  • Providing technical support to the Alternate Underground Manager and Mining Superintendent to ensure delivery of mine plans.
  • Responsible for short term mine planning and scheduling – generating 2-week plans from the Monthly Plan and driving priorities in daily operational plans.
  • Ensuring adherence to the technical obligations in the mining contract.
  • Coordinating timely installation of mine infrastructure (pumping, ventilation, electrical, services, refuge chambers etc) for existing and new areas.
  • Daily, Weekly and Monthly Production reporting as well as supporting inventory with the management and ordering of explosives.
  • Continually evaluate, review and determine the most appropriate use of mining methodologies for best project performance.

About you

  • 4+ years’ experience within underground operations
  • Tertiary Qualification in Mining Engineering or similar
  • Self-motivated engineer proficient in mine planning, scheduling and underground production systems
  • Understanding of practical underground operations and ability to provide hands on support to underground team
  • Valid Driver’s Licence "C" Class minimum
  • WA Shift Supervisor or Mine Manager ticket (to cover absences) highly desirable, as well as
  • Experience in project / contract engineering
  • Experience scheduling in Deswik
