About the role
As the Statutory Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the Hunter Valley mining operations compliance to the site MECP ,relevant legislation, and site procedures. Other responsibilities will include liaising with site based Mechanical Engineers and assisting the Site Maintenance Manager in coordinating their work scope and activities.
This role also requires you to monitor and assist in maintaining all required statutory checks in a timely manner.
A key component of the role is to drive continuous improvements across all activities and help entrench a continuous improvement mind set across the site that identifies cost savings, productivity improvements, increased site safety and eliminates defects.
To be successful in this role you are required to have:
- A tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering Statutory Practicing Certificate for NSW
- Extensive experience in maintenance planning
- Strong planning and problem-solving skills
- A high level of strategic thinking
- Strong and effective communication skills
In this role you will be required to travel to sites across our NSW operations. This position is based at the Thiess office in Singleton with the majority of your time spent working at sites across our NSW operations.
