The Lake Vermont Coal Project is situated in Dysart, North Queensland.   This project is one of Thiess’ largest and longest running projects.  The project currently produces 10Mt of coal and 75Mbcm of overburden annually. 

About the role

We have a Maintenance Planner (Short Term Planner) role available on an 8/6 (back to back) roster reporting to the Planning and Engineering Superintendent.  You will be required to plan and coordinate short term maintenance activities on heavy mining equipment.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Planning and scheduling short term maintenance activities for excavators, drills, trucks, dozers, graders and loaders
  • Initiating and monitoring the purchasing and logistics process to ensure parts, equipment, resources and tooling are available when required
  • Ensuring information stored in the CMMS is detailed, accurate and current
  • Timely communication of any foreseeable disruptions to planned events
  • Actively engaging with mining operations team to ensure plans are aligned with production objectives

About you

  • Relevant Maintenance Planning Qualifications
    • Mechanical trade or experience in a prior planning role
    • Maintenance management diploma or Mechanical Engineering qualification are advantageous
  • Maintenance planning experience in a mobile plant environment
  • Experience in Maintenance systems such as JDE, SAP or similar is highly regarded
  • Experience with Microsoft Office particularly Microsoft Excel is highly regarded
  • Current Driver’s Licence

  • 8/6 Roster – Wednesday to Wednesday
  • Full Camp Facilities available
