About the role

Reporting to the Pay Processing Team Leader, you will ensure employees are paid in accordance with common law contracts, various awards and EBAs.

In this role, you will:

  • Be responsible for processing the monthly payroll for Australian salaried employees
  • Action all payroll impacting transactions including but not limited to promotions, allowance adjustments and changes in hours of work
  • Work closely with the People and Capability team to ensure employee changes are actioned in a timely manner
  • Work closely with the outsource provider to ensure that all employee information in relation to new, current and terminated employees is maintained and correct
  • Review and approve payroll processing reports in line with the payroll calendar
  • Work with payroll colleagues internally and across multiple Operating Companies to successfully manage employee transfers and movements across domestic and international operations
  • Review and approve retrospective pay reports
  • Process bulk changes to staff salaries including annual superannuation changes, remuneration reviews and one-off payments as required.
  • Review monthly payroll for completeness and accuracy
  • Ensure monthly payroll costing files are promptly uploaded into the Financial System JD Edwards

About you

This role will suit someone who has:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ payroll experience in a large Company, preferably within the Mining or Construction Industry, or similar
  • Experience working on large payrolls with strict deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience using Oracle HCM Cloud and Preceda (highly desirable)
  • Understanding and interpretation of Moderns Awards, National Employment Standards, Enterprise Bargaining Agreements and Common Law Contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of MS office suite (Excel, Word)
