The Melbourne Graduate School of Education (MGSE) is seeking a senior, internationally recognised academic for a Professor of Digital Education position who will have the vision and capacity to shape and build the digital scholarship and research capacity within the MGSE.
The Professor of Digital Education will be an outstanding educator who will actively contribute to teaching innovations, both within MGSE and across educational sectors and will bring an excellent record of sustained academic leadership, including fostering colleagues’ digital discovery as they explore digital learning, teaching and research excellence.
The Professor of Digital Education will have an outstanding track record in research, world-class record of high impact publications and consistent success in winning competitive funding. Success working with external partners and of securing research contracts and consultancies is essential. Additionally, the Professor of Digital Education will have proven leadership qualities in fostering colleagues’ excellence in research and will successfully supervise higher degree research students.
To be the ideal candidate for this position, you will have international standing in the field of digital education and an outstanding record in teaching and research, with proven leadership qualities in fostering excellence in others, particularly early and mid-career academic staff.
You will have an established knowledge and understanding of the international and national education policy environments, with a demonstrated ability to research and analyse global trends in curriculum design, digital education and assessment in digitally supported educational environments, and the strategic initiatives taken to address these.

The incumbent of this position will be required to undertake the responsibilities of a Professor of the University and the Faculty as outlined in: University Expectations of a Professor and Faculty Expectations of Academic staff. All Professors are members of the Academic Board of the University.
