About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Soft Services Manager to lead the delivery of cleaning and catering services across state-of-the-art facilities on the Burrup Peninsula. In this critical role, you will lead a dedicated staff, while managing key contractor relationships to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality meals and hygiene services that promote a safe, healthy, and efficient working environment for all personnel.
Based in Karratha (WA), this role offers the chance to work within a dynamic, highly regulated environment that underpins essential energy infrastructure for both Western Australia and international markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of cleaning and catering operations across multiple facilities, ensuring high standards of hygiene, safety, and service delivery.
- Manage contractor performance, ensuring compliance with contractual terms, KPIs, and quality benchmarks.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules, catering plans, and supporting documentation in alignment with operational needs.
- Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene regulations, permit-to-work systems, and environmental standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections, address service quality concerns, and take corrective actions where necessary.
- Oversee budgeting, procurement, and stock control to ensure cost-effective service delivery.
- Promote a strong safety culture by identifying hazards, reporting incidents, and reinforcing HSE protocols across all operations.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying efficiencies, integrating customer feedback, and introducing innovative service enhancements.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including maintenance and broader facility teams, to ensure integrated, customer-focused outcomes.
- Lead, develop, and engage your team through regular training, coaching, toolbox talks, and performance management to build a culture of professionalism and responsiveness.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring proven leadership experience in managing soft services such as catering, cleaning, or hospitality within a facilities, mining, or industrial environment. You’re passionate about delivering high-quality service outcomes and deeply committed to health, safety, and hygiene standards. Your ability to lead teams, build strong client relationships, and manage operations with commercial awareness will set you apart.
Additionally, you will have:
- Experience leading catering, cleaning, or facilities teams, ideally in a complex, multi-site environment.
- Demonstrated experience in workforce planning, including forecasting staffing needs, creating efficient rosters, and managing team deployment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations.
- Budget management experience, including cost control and reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate diverse teams.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with a customer-focused mindset.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.
- High level of organisational and time management skills.
- Previous experience in a remote or industrial setting (desirable).
